Message From the President

"Transforming Disability to Ability"

Rukhshana Sholapurwala Believing in this CHILDReach Organisation was established in 1987 by a group of parents and professionals of Children with Special Needs.
Five years later I had the privilege to join the banner. It was and is still an honour to be frst a member, then a Hon. Secretary and now President of this August Organisation.
We are celebrating 30 years of CHILDReach the Pearl Anniversary of the organization.
CHILDReach has grown tremendously over the years and we have achieved a lot in these thirty years. Right from awareness programmes for Children with Special Needs, to running of a School where these children are well understood and have gained a lot of confdence. After a few years of school we realized the importance of children being employed and so we started the Polytechnic. We want to strengthen this project of ours by giving service not only to our school children but to the society in general of Children with Special Needs. We would like our organization to be more powerful enough to press the right to an equal opportunity in jobs and employments and most important the right to grow up into self respecting individuals and contributing members of the society.
All these achievements can only be possible due to the co operation of our Managing Committee Members old & new, the unstinted efforts and devotion of our School and Polytechnic staff members and the unfailing support of Parents.

I sincerely thank and congratulate the organization for doing yeomen service and executing a social responsibility towards the Children with Special Needs. We look forward to your continued support in all our future endeavours.

Rukhshana Sholapurwala
President

Message From the Principal Farida Asrani

From the Principal’s desk:

Farida Asrani As CHILDReach Organization completes 30 years, I take this opportunity to congratulate all the founder members for this mammoth achievement. From the time of its conception in 1987, beginning with awareness programs on the issue of learning disabilities the organization has made strides in this area, as well as branched into so much more today. The Organization took a step forward, setting up CHILDReach School in 1999 with the motto “More than just education”.
At CHILDReach we believe in creating a meaningful learning environment for slow learners and children with learning diffculties who are often academically under prepared. We approach education from an inclusive standpoint with a commitment to educating every child with learning diffculties to their fullest. CHILDReach is a safe haven for these children providing a respectful environment of appropriate education. We combine formal academics with co-curricular activities and counselling services to harness each child’s potential.
More recently, CHILDReach Pre-Vocational Centre and Polytechnic was set up as a bridge between the school and the outside world. A need was felt to create awareness about career and employment options as well as provide the soft skills required for the children to become well-adjusted individuals. The Polytechnic was formed to provide the necessary skills required to survive and thrive in today’s times. Its primary objective is to empower the students to became self reliant and independent, along with building meaningful and supportive relationships.
All of this would not have been possible if a group of concerned parents and special educators had not got together 30 years ago from this day. We look forward to many more years of success stories with CHILDReach Organization at the helm.
